Monica Muñoz (1980) is a documentary photographer based in Berlin. Her interest in photography lies in documenting everyday life, family legacies, and social concepts. She is the author of the book “S*x, p*rn & feminism" (2022), which won the Best Photobook Award in 2023.
Muñoz has also documented the drag scene in Santiago de Chile (2000-2014) and a psychiatric institution (2000-2008) in the same location. These works have been exhibited at different institutions between Latinoamérica and Europe.
Her work is distinguished by its portrayal of humanity, a revelation of the beauty within the world and the nuances of everyday life and the underground.
